Teaching Through Creativity, Curiosity & Connection

Melissa’s teaching philosophy centres on creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where creativity, confidence and community wellbeing can flourish. She teaches acrylic, oil and gouache painting, as well as fibre and textile arts, encouraging students of all abilities and experience levels to explore, experiment and embrace the creative process. Her approach is rooted in curiosity rather than perfection, helping each person discover their own artistic voice, build confidence and develop a meaningful connection to art and one another.
